YouTube-Thief!-tk Is a remake of the previously released YouTube-Thief! console based application that saves YouTube.com videos to your Hard Drive. This was coded in Perl/Tk and can be used if you have the Tk environment installed (easy to do). A few things this version can do:

  • Save YouTube Videos to be played with VLC
  • Check out New Code right from the application!
  • looks cooler than the console based version!
    (This is still BETA and will be modified soon for mplayer audio dump support and such.)

DOWNLOAD && INSTALL

youtube-thief-tk.pl is available here. Older versions may be buggy. Any comments or additions are welcome. A dependency list is below the downloads.

bash~#wget (right click this link and wget it)
bash~#tar vzxfvvvv youtube-thief-tk.tar.gz

 You could also, Install it into your $PATH and run it as a normal command. If you want the cool icon and the top icon, (in the window title bar) you need to put that png file into your path as well, in the same directory as the admintool. (Also, open admintool and correct the $PATH of the PNG.)

  • VLC video player
  • firefox to view the code page
  • Perl/Tk
