PerlyBlueBox - written by Trevelyn

PerlyBlueBox Is a BlueBox application for your Desktop environment/educational pleasure. This is my second application coded in the Perl/Tk environment, coded soley from nano and vi. The tones were handmade with Audacity.

  • plays MF tones for [0-9], KP, ST, and 2600!
  • opens a firefox window to the wiki page for BlueBox
  • looks cool! :)

DOWNLOAD && INSTALL

PerlyBlueBox.pl is available here. Older versions may be buggy. Any comments or additions are welcome. A dependency list is below the downloads.

Version 1.0

INSTALLATION:
bash~#wget (right click this link and wget it)
bash~#tar vzxfvvvv perlybluebox.tar.gz
bash~#cd admin<tab>
bash~#perl perlybluebox.pl

 You could also, Install it into your $PATH and run it as a normal command. If you want the cool icon and the top icon, (in the window title bar) you need to put that png file into your path as well, in the same directory as the admintool. (Also, open admintool and correct the $PATH of the PNG.)

Dependencies:

  • uses "sox" to play the wav files
  • firefox to view the wiki
  • Perl::Tk
